24. Security Policy
Security Statement: Tyco Integrated Fire & Security Canada, Inc., brings together a combination of industry-approved security technologies to protect data for our customers. It features password - controlled system entry and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for data encryption.
Secure Access and Verifying User Authenticity
To begin a session with Tyco, a User must enter a Log-in ID and a password. Each User is responsible for the security and use of their username and password.
Secure Data Transfer
Once the server session established, the User and the server are in a secured environment. Because the server has been certified as a 128-bit secure server by Thawte, data traveling between the user and the server is encrypted with the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. With SSL, data that travels between Tyco and customers is encrypted and can only be decrypted with the public and private key pair. These two keys are the only combination possible for that session. When the session is complete, the keys expire and the whole process starts over when a new user makes a server session.
Strong precautions are taken to protect information about the users of our site. When users submit sensitive information via the site, that information is protected both online and off-line.
Tyco takes alarm data information security seriously and uses a variety of technical solutions to make the alarm data information safe at our site. Furthermore, your information is encrypted and is protected utilizing the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption software. While Tyco uses SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, Tyco also protects user information off-line. All of the information pertaining to our site's users, including the sensitive information mentioned above, is maintained in a restricted section in our offices. Only those of our employees who need the information to perform a specific job (e.g., account or customer service representatives) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Furthermore, our employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices.
Tyco Integrated Fire & Security Canada, Inc. may decide to change this policy at any time. Changes to this statement will be posted on this Site.
NOTE: Internet Explorer supports SSL.
